A Message of Gratitude and Exciting News
Publish Date: November 12, 2025

Dear Friends of the Catholic Foundation,
We share with gratitude that the Catholic Foundation of Michigan continues to flourish through your generosity. As we celebrate our recent successful Igniting Our Future Gala, we also share news of a leadership transition. Our Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Angela Moloney has accepted the role of President and CEO of Gleaners Community Food Bank, beginning in January 2026.
This is a moment of gratitude and celebration. While she will certainly be missed, Angela’s new role is wonderful news for Gleaners, our Foundation, and the Southeast Michigan community. She leaves the Foundation in a strong, thriving position, and we offer her full support and confidence as she begins this next chapter.
Since 2017, under Angela’s visionary leadership and through the generosity of our donors and partners, the Catholic Foundation has:
Raised more than $88 million in charitable donations since its inception, including $550,000 at the recent Igniting Our Future Gala on October 16.- Invested $67 million in assets through the creation of 300+ charitable funds that will support the community in perpetuity.
- Distributed more than $34 million in grants, advancing Catholic education, faith-based initiatives, and community programs across Michigan.
These extraordinary results reflect not only Angela’s leadership but also the generosity and faith of our entire Catholic community. Together, we have built a lasting foundation for mission and impact.
As Angela transitions into her new role at Gleaners, she carries her deep commitment to serving those in need. Gleaners’ mission — to provide households across Southeast Michigan with access to nutritious food and resources with dignity — aligns beautifully with the Catholic Foundation’s call to live out the Corporal Works of Mercy and strengthen our communities through faith and action.
We are grateful for Angela’s years of devoted service and excited for the positive collaborations that will continue between our organizations. The Foundation is strong, guided by our dedicated Board of Directors, composed of 32 Catholic lay leaders, and our committed team. We are well-positioned for continued growth.
Board member Frank Roney is leading our Search and Transition Committee as we conduct an executive search to identify our next President and CEO. We place our trust in the Holy Spirit, who will guide our work as we plan for the Foundation’s next growth phase to bless and support our Church’s spiritual, educational, and social mission. Read the press release here.
We remain deeply grateful for your prayers and partnership during this time of transition. Please join us in asking our Foundation’s patron, St. Katharine Drexel, and Our Blessed Mother, for their prayers that Angela will flourish in her new role and that God will bless us with an incredible new leader.
Chris Allen, Chair
