“Those who give alms will enjoy a full life.”
Prayer with fasting is good. It is better to give alms than to store up gold…Those who give alms will enjoy a full life. – Tobit 12:8-9
As we enter the Lenten season and are invited to deepen our faith practice in preparation for the Easter Feast. Our shared focus as a Catholic community on praying, fasting, and giving opens us to greater trust in God and to the Holy Spirit’s life-giving transformation. When we give alms, we are called to give out of “our want.” Though it may feel like sacrifice, the Book of Tobit reminds us that giving allows us to enjoy a full life.
The Catholic Foundation is here to help you give most generously, in ways that will impact our community for years to come.
With nearly 100 funds supporting local parishes, ministries and Catholic schools, we will support your almsgiving in this Lenten season and beyond.
Please consider giving to one of our funds during Lent. A gift of any size will help to grow the fund and increase its granting capacity now and for years to come.
