The St. Oscar Romero Endowed Grant, established through the generosity of Holy Trinity Parish, Port Huron, is the first Latino-focused fund at the Catholic Foundation. The purpose of this permanent endowment is to strengthen the diverse Latino community of Michigan and contribute to the regions’s vitality by supporting issues and organizations that advance the socioeconomic status of Latinos, while enhancing the spiritual and leadership capacity of the entire Latino community.

2019 Grants will be awarded parishes, schools, and nonprofit organizations that improve the quality of life in the Northeast Region of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

On October 14, Msgr. Oscar Romero and Pope Paul VI will be canonized. “Without these two saints, Catholic mission work would be so different,” asserted Msgr. James Moloney, Mission Director of the Propagation of the Faith for the Archdiocese of Detroit.
