Ways to Give
Thank you for your interest in working with the Catholic Foundations of Michigan. Our team is focused on helping you maximize your faithful charitable goals. We share a passion to help your generosity do the most good for our Catholic community.
The Catholic Foundation of Michigan will accept one-time, recurring, or planned gifts of money, securities, retirement plan assets, fully paid life insurance policies, and more. Gifts may be given to a specific fund or designated for gifting by the foundation.
Gifts can be of any size and can support multiple funds, from restricted endowments, to scholarships to specific Catholic field of interest funds. You can give to one of our nearly 100 existing funds, or you can Start a Fund of your own.
Anyone can add to an existing fund at any time, in any amount–even if you did not start the fund! Donating to an existing fund is easy, and there are options for everyone:
Gifts by Mail
Mailing a gift of cash – You can send us a check or money order. Please let us know if you want your gift used for a specific purpose by indicating that purpose either in the memo line or in a letter to us.
Make a gift using a check or money order made out to “Catholic Foundation of Michigan” and mail to:

Please remember that if you are giving a gift to a fund other than the Foundation’s operations, include the name of the fund you are giving to on your check.

Roll over all or a portion of your IRA’s required minimum distribution. If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a gift of up to $100,000 to support your beloved parish or ministry. You will not pay taxes on any distributions made to The Catholic Foundation.
This is one of the most popular ways to support charitable causes because it is quick and simple to transfer securities to The Catholic Foundation – after liquidation, we will deposit the assets into the fund of your choice.
If you have bonds, mutual funds or closely held stock, contact us to discuss a possible gift. You can make a gift of securities in your will, or use them to create endowment funds, donor advised funds, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts.
Appreciated real estate such as your personal or commercial property can be donated in a portion before it is sold, or you can leave real estate in your will to one of our current funds or use it to create a fund upon your death. It preserves cash, gives lifetime income, and provides significant tax advantages.
