“Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.  For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.” -Luke 9:48.
The St. Margaret of Castello Granting Fund was created for the purpose of ensuring that children with special needs are given the same opportunities for Catholic education as all other children. While public schools are legally mandated to educate children with significant learning differences, we believe that Catholic schools, parishes, and communities have a moral and spiritual obligation to do so. Yet today, so few do.

There are many reasons for this and very real obstacles to inclusive Catholic education. We seek to partner with schools, principals, communities, and families to remove those obstacles. Our mission is to help students of all needs, all abilities, and all talents receive an inclusive and enriching educational opportunity while assisting those educators and educational institutions willing—like Mary—to say ‘Yes’ to such an opportunity!

About Our Patron Saint

Saint Margaret of Castello is the Patron Saint of Children with Disabilities.  This Fund was created in her name to help fund schools, parishes, and teachers who wish to educate all of His children.  In her lifetime she was cast out because of her own disabilities and told that she could not participate in society because of her special needs.  Yet, with God’s grace, she grew up to be a Third-Order Dominican and spent the rest of her life teaching children, especially those with disabilities.

St. Margaret, pray for us!
