Angela Moloney
President & CEO
As a long-time leader in the Catholic nonprofit community, Angela Moloney is grateful to fulfill a passion for philanthropy work as founding President and CEO of the Catholic Foundation of Michigan (CFM), a position she’s held since May 2017. Through her work at CFM, she is committed to increasing the impact of Catholic ministries, parishes, and schools by inspiring charitable giving and managing assets to grow the Church for generations.
Angela has served Catholic organizations for nearly 20 years, providing direction in advancement, administration, cultivating donors, leading teams, fostering strong networks, and implementing policies to improve philanthropic giving. Working “in the trenches,” Angela has experienced how challenging it can be to accomplish meaningful change with limited or unstable funds. For Angela, philanthropy is a ministry.
For 10 years Angela served as Domestic Director at Jesuit Volunteer Corps, a Catholic organization connecting young volunteers with opportunities to serve marginalized communities. Her work included cultivating major gifts, leading regional development and fundraising efforts, and acquiring grants to support the program. Her experience also includes serving as Executive Director of Nazareth Farm, a Catholic nonprofit serving the needs of families in rural West Virginia through home repair and transformative volunteer service retreats, and as Director of Campus Ministry at Bishop McNamara High School in Maryland.
Angela obtained a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Washington Theological Union and completed a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program from Georgetown University. She graduated from Madonna University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in pastoral studies and counseling. She holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation from the American College of Financial Services.
Angela has served her community as President of the Board of Trustees of the Ypsilanti District Library, a lay minister at her parish, and a volunteer at Detroit organizations including the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and The Greening of Detroit.
