John F. Biskner
President & CEO
John F. Biskner was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Foundation of Michigan in April 2026, where he leads the organization’s mission to inspire and steward faithful philanthropy in support of Catholic ministries, parishes, and schools.
A seasoned Catholic leader with more than 20 years of experience, Biskner brings a rare combination of deep ministry expertise and executive leadership, along with a proven ability to build systems that strengthen stewardship, engagement, and long-term growth. Throughout his career, he has helped dioceses, parishes, and Catholic organizations align their development and operational strategies with the Church’s real pastoral and financial needs.
Most recently, Biskner founded Biskner & Associates, where he advised dioceses and nonprofit organizations nationwide on stewardship models, development strategy, parish ministry, and the strategic use of data to support mission-driven outcomes. His work has focused on helping Catholic organizations build sustainable systems that enable both growth and faithful service.
Previously, Biskner served as Senior Product Strategist for the Catholic market at ACS Technologies, where he led efforts to align enterprise-level technology solutions with the needs of parishes and dioceses nationwide. His leadership contributed to the widespread adoption of MinistryPlatform and strengthened long-term engagement with Catholic organizations.
Earlier in his career, Biskner was co-owner and Director of Business Development at Gabriel Software (now part of eCatholic), where he helped guide the company’s rapid growth and expansion into new markets, increasing adoption from fewer than 30 to more than 700 parishes in just two years. He also held leadership roles with Ave Maria Radio and ParishSOFT, where he worked extensively with dioceses on stewardship strategy, development operations, and organizational effectiveness.
Biskner’s work is distinguished by his deep understanding of how the Catholic Church operates at both the parish and diocesan levels, as well as his ability to translate that understanding into practical systems and strategies that support mission and growth.
A native of Pontiac, Biskner graduated from Cranbrook Schools and was active in young adult ministry at the National Shrine of the Little Flower. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary in 2001 and, through prayerful discernment, recognized a call to serve the Church through leadership in the lay vocation.
He holds a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business (2013) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering (1996).
Biskner is active in parish life at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Ann Arbor, where he serves in music ministry and co-leads marriage ministry for engaged couples. His commitment to the life of the Church is both professional and deeply personal. John and his wife, Caroline, have been married since 2004 and have five children.
